Regional Services
Therapy Support That Works For Regional Families.
For Regional Families
If you’re raising a child in a regional community, you already know how hard it can be to access the right support — long waitlists, limited local options, and the extra load of travel.
CHATS (Children’s Health and Therapy Services) offers regional Occupational Therapy now, with Speech Pathology coming soon. Our goal is simple: practical, neuro-affirming support that fits real family life — at home, at kinder/school, via telehealth, and in community.
Use The Timetable To See Where We’re In Your Area
Our regional timetable shows the towns we’re currently servicing and the days we’re on the road.
Current regional locations:
- Deniliquin
- Swan Hill
- Echuca
- Ballarat
What We Offer (Now And Next)
Occupational Therapy (Available Now)
Our regional OT sessions can be delivered:
- at home
- at kinder/school
- in the community
- via telehealth
We focus on practical outcomes — regulation, independence, participation, routines, sensory preferences, attention, motor skills, and confidence in everyday settings.
Speech Pathology (Coming Soon)
We’re building our regional Speech Pathology offering.
Speech Pathology services are coming soon — if you’d like to be notified when places open in your area, please get in touch.
Why Our Regional Model Is Different
Many services offer telehealth to regional families — but are based in Melbourne.
Our regional support is different because our regional therapist lives in regional Victoria and understands:
• the realities of distance and travel
• how limited service access can be
• the importance of working with local kinders, schools and community supports
And because we offer in-person outreach plus telehealth, families can choose the mix that works best — without losing continuity of care.
Telehealth + In-Person: The Best Of Both
If you live outside these main towns (or travel is difficult), telehealth can be a strong first step — and it doesn’t mean “second best”.
Telehealth can be ideal for:
• parent coaching and routines support
• school/kinder collaboration and strategy planning
• regulation, executive functioning and participation goals
• building consistent strategies between sessions
When needed, families can also:
• make the trip into the main town for an in-person catch-up
• book in-person assessments or key review sessions
This flexible model helps children practise skills where they matter most — while still getting the benefit of face-to-face support when it counts.
Extra Learning Support (When It’s The Right Fit)
Some regional families choose homeschooling due to travel, distance, or what works best for their child.
Our teaching staff can support students with more academic-focused goals, such as:
• Kickstart Literacy and Numeracy Boost (run by our Early Childhood Teacher)
• building a clear set of learning goals and an achievable plan to reach them
• practical strategies to support learning at home (and track progress over time)
If you’re unsure whether this is the right fit for your child, we’ll talk it through and recommend the best next step.
Regional Social Groups
Ballarat: Social Skills Group (Primary School)
We’re currently running a Social Skills group for primary school-aged children at our Ballarat location.
Families in Ballarat and surrounding areas are welcome to enrol, or you can send through an Expression of Interest and we’ll keep you updated with upcoming dates and availability.
Deniliquin, Swan Hill And Echuca (Expression Of Interest)
We’d love to grow regional group options over time — for example, an after-school group (e.g., 4:00–5:30pm) in Deniliquin, Swan Hill and Echuca.
To do this well, we’ll need:
• a suitable venue (ideally a calm, community-based space)
• the right group size and support (including an Allied Health Assistant when needed)
If you’d like a social group option in your town, let us know — your interest helps us plan venues, staffing and session times.
