School Holiday Groups at CHATS

Make the most of school holidays with CHATS! Our specially designed holiday programs offer children, teens, and young adults the chance to build confidence, develop new skills, and have genuine fun in a supportive, therapy-informed environment.

What are school holiday groups?

During each school break, CHATS runs themed group programs tailored to different age groups. These aren’t just childcare—they’re carefully structured opportunities for young people to:

  • Practice real-world skills in authentic settings (ordering at a café, managing transitions, joining group activities)
  • Build independence and confidence through new experiences and challenges
  • Connect with peers who understand them and share similar interests
  • Develop regulation and social skills while having a genuine good time
  • Apply therapy strategies in everyday, meaningful contexts

Who These Groups Are Suited To

Our holiday programs are designed for children, teens, and young adults with additional support needs who are thriving in mainstream educational settings. This includes:

  • Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (Level 1–2) who attend mainstream school
  • Young people with ADHD, anxiety, or developmental differences in mainstream education
  • Students who don’t require one-on-one support during the school day but benefit from structured, therapy-informed group experiences
  • Children in the “gap”—those who don’t fit neatly into NDIS funding but need extra support to build confidence, independence, and social skills
  • These groups fill an important space for young people who are managing well academically but need support with the non-academic demands of school and social life—like managing transitions, building friendships, regulating emotions, and developing independence.
  • Programs are tailored to different age groups, from toddlers through to young adults (16–25 years).

What’s Included?

Each holiday program is unique, but typically features:

  • Themed activities (crafts, cooking, games, creative projects)
  • Community outings (parks, cafés, cinemas, adventure activities)
  • Skill-building sessions (regulation strategies, social skills, life skills)
  • Sensory-friendly experiences designed for different needs
  • Structured routines with clear expectations and flexibility

Funding Options

Holiday programs can be funded through:

  • Private payment
